Introduce myself
#1
Hi, I'm new to this forum, I'm excited to read and learn and maybe get some questions answered! I'm 46 live in No Colorado, I live in foothills and I have riding around my neighborhood on dirt roads and hauling firewood, wildfire mitigation work, fun in the snow on my quad:
2000 Polaris Sportsman 500 4x4.
I'm moving to costa rica in may 2021 and I'm bringing the sportsman in the container with my dirt bikes, Honda xr650 and husqvarna 300. I've had the sportsman 10 years and it only has 1500 miles and 215 hours. it runs great. the guy before me beat up the plastics which i'm finding are hard to replace. bigger questions have to do with -- what issues should i expect from this machine 20 years old but so little use? I think I can't go wrong bringing it to CR with me (famous last words) but I want to be pro-active and fix it here instead of trying to do anything there which is impossible - part expensive hard to find, wait forever, and no tech help - have to do it all myself - the term in CR 'mechanic' means he who yields a wrench - despite if he has training or competence.
I've already posted my first thread asking this question more specifically.
keep those tires rolling!
