Default sunken 650

A buddy of mine sunk his 650 about a week ago. He changed the oil and says he dried everything out. He said he finally got it running a little, but now when he starts it, it runs really high rpm and the instruments go haywire. Does anyone have any ideas on this? Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

Sounds like maybe he has some water shorting out a connection somewhere. Try unplugging a few plugs, make sure they're good and dry then coat with dielectric grease before reconnecting. I've never had this problem before so I'm just taking a shot in the dark here. Hopefully someone has more experience with this and can lead you to a quick fix. Good luck.

I agree with that diagnosis...having been there done that! LOL

Also, make sure your tranny box is dry. When I swamped mine, I had to take the cover off to get it dry. It takes in water like crazy when it gets up over the tranny air intake.

Rule #1.....they are four-wheelers, not boats. Yes, it is hard for us to "chicken out" in front of our buds and not cross where it looks deep. But, safe is always better than sorry!

Rule #2.....Explaining to your wife that you "totalled" that 650 she let you buy could be rough. In fact, it could bring on physical harm to you.

SO.....always defer to Rule #1, at all times.
