By the way, when transporting the quad, I also throw a bungee cord over the seat, from one floor board, up to the rear rack on the other side. I saw an ATV seat laying on the side of the highway one day. I am making sure it will never ben mine like that.

deck, the center catch on my 650 the wifes 650 my brothers 650 and a good friend of mines 650 have never latched. We have a not had any problems with any of the seats coming unlatched, even with the center unlatched. The exception is, when I first got mine, I had trouble with it coming unlatched in the rear. The problem was the wiring wasn't laying flat under the seat. That caused the seat not to latch good in the rear and it would pop loose. Check your wiring out make sure it is laying as low as you can get it. As far as I am concerned you could cut the center latch off of the seat on my 650 and it wouldn't hurt a thing, never ever latched anyway.

Mine does exactly the same thing, I latch it, and 10 min later it slides backwards, I put it back on tight and then it does it again. It always slides backwards and just sits there It just started this about 2 weeks ago. I have looked and played with it and it appears normal (nothing bent out of shape or broke) I think I might try the heat gun too.

I just picked up my new P650 on Friday. I was showing it to a friend and we took the seat off. I tried several times but could not get the seat to latch up....
After a number of unsuccessful attempts and close examination I found the the blue and yellow winch wires that had been run through to area were impeding the seat from sitting down low enough for the latch to catch properly. I could also see markes on the wires where the pressure from me pushing down on the seat was damaging the wire casing itself. This over time could lead to a bare wire.
I moved the wires over and pushed them down as far as I could and it latched perfectly. Make sure the winch wires are pushed down far enough out of the way...
