Hello everyone, just curious if anyone here has aftermarket front shocks on their Tecate? I have an '87 Tecate-4 and I broke one of the front shocks two weeks ago. After trying two local dealers and flipping through endless catalogs I could only find ONE brand of shock for the Tecate (which were $250 / pair). After telling the salesperson I'll take em, they call me back a week later and tell me they can't obtain them any longer! WTF?!

The dealer is going to try and cross reference some other brands to see if I can retrofit them to my quad.

Any suggestions??

BTW, I really don't want to spend over $300 (for the pair) and I want to purchase ASAP.

Thanks!

I would have you call works suspension because they will build any custom shock. If you ever get them rebuilt you can have them converted into tcs shocks wich ride lower and and make the quad handle better. I once thought that white brothers made shocks for a tecate but I could be wrong

CALL GENE AT SHOC CONNECTION [805]-584-2805. GET A SET OF WORKS TRIPLE RATES WITH NO CANS. THEY WILL RUN YOU $299. GENE WILL SEND YOU SHOCKS THAT ARE SPRUNG FOR YOUR EXACT WEIGHT AS PART OF THAT PRICE. THAT'S WHAT I HAD ON MY TECATE.

Thanks guys, I ordered them about 4 weeks ago, and put them on my quad last weekend.

Unfortunately, I think they are too stiff. I hope they break-in a bit.

Did they loosen up a bit for you guys?
