Look on the inner and outer races of the old bearing. There should be P.N.'s stamped on them. OR take the old brng. to your supplier, and let him measure/match it. You may not find a match, as Kaw. may have had a run of brngs. produced just for them. It may be a specialized, or one-off brng. good luck, keep us posted!

general bearing numbers are a four digit number with possibly some letters after it. The letters designate wether it it sealed, shielded, etc. like i said this is a general ref. there are some off the shelf bearings that have more numbers and are specific in nature as far as preload and other items.
def try to get a number off the bearing itself. Good luck.

Guys,
I screwed up my front wheel bearing trying to pound it out and found out after going to 4 different, very large, bearing houses that the front bearing from my 03 605 Prairie is a "dealer only" part. This gets me mad when the bearing makers conspire with the manufacturers to keep the price of the bearings at an elevated level. I got a replacement for $36.00 at M&R Cycle in North Carolina. Unfortunately, I had to order a new stering nuckle, the big aluminum piece that holds the bearing and the bottom of the strut tube. My ball joint came loose and dewstroyed the id of the hole in the nuckle. Good luck getting yours.

My dealership just did new steering knuckles and bearings on my 400, same thing, dealer only parts. They could have just done the bearings, but say that half the time, the knuckles are either messed up or get messed up in the process. Glad I have a warranty, but it torques me too that they do this stuff, oh well, its still their design.

How did you set pre-load on the bearings? They aren't the same width. ?????????????
The manufacterer's name is NSK, not NGK, on the O.E.M. bearing ,right? Your replacements were made by SKF,right?

the bearing that was in there is nsk sorry size is 30x55x26 and the ones i put in are 30x55x13. So the two of them equal 30x55x26. The only thing i did was soak down the old bearing for about 2hours with wd-40 before trying to remove. The press at work don't have a gauge on it.
