Default p650 and kfx 400 drag

My 650 has a pipe, black spring, and snorkal, the 400 was stock. The drag was a 1/10 of a mile on a slight down hill. I lost every time in 2wd by 2-3 lengths. In 4wd i beat him by 2-3 lengths. If the kfx has a better power to weight ratio then why did i beat him? The gearing is fairly close, about the same top speed. For me to have the same power to weight ratio i need about 47hp at the rear wheel. Im pretty sure i dont have 47hp. His quad makes about 31@ rear wheel. Mine makes 34@ rear wheel stock?
thanks

Sounds to me like you were getting too much wheelspin in 2wd but in 4wd you were able to get the holeshot

I was thinking about that but I think the reason you were faster in 2wd was because the wheels were spinning and giving the speedo a higher reading

I was drag racing a Rincon and another P650 at the time. So the elasped time was faster in 2wd than 4wd for me.

Cueball, he probably does have a better power to weight ratio (depending on the weight of the rider) but as you stated, in 2wd he beat you and in 4wd you beat him. Obviously you had more wheelspin in 2wd, and when you put it in 4wd you had a better holeshot. He probably had wheelspin as well but didnt have the option of putting it in 4wd to loose his spin.

He also may not have been a really good rider with a clutch. Did you swap quads, too? Were the results the same?

We didnt swap quads as i have no skill at manual clutch. I rode the bike around for like 10mins it was weird going from 1 to the other. The way it rode and revved it reminds me of my sisters dirt bike. We are with in 20 lbs of each other.
