If the timing of the CDI is the same on the 700 just like on the 650, how come the 700 is so much stronger on the bottom and mid? , I know that extra cc's make more power BUT if the CDI's are the same then the 700 would run about the same as the 650 and according to all that have rode the 700 it's quite a bit stronger, therefore the timing curve must be different than the 650 right, or could it be in the clutching and belt if the Pra. has the same clutch/ belt set-up as the V-Force.......

The timing curve is the same but the power difference comes from the bigger bore and the longer stroke of the crank. The clutchs appear to be the same as the 650's as far as I can tell!

If Kaw didn't at least put the V-force belt on the new Pra. 700 , this is a MAJOR screw-up that will cause huge problem's, We all know the belt on the 650 need's to be stronger, and now with more power from the 700 and Kaw useing the same 650 belt, this is plain stupid!!!!

I will be talking to my dealer tomorrow and I will ask him what if anything he knows about the clutchs and the belt. I will be putting my springs in the clutch later this week so I will take another look and see what part number is on the belt!

Yeah, to bad the belts are the same. Atleast the CDI boxes are different.

When I said the belts are the same I must have been talking about the P700 and the V700. I should have clarified that here and I wouldnt have been confused in my next reply to this post.

Kawasaki did put the v-force belt on the new 700 prairie. The cdi on the 700 prairie is the same as the 03 650. Also as well as I can tell both the drive and driven converters on the 700 prairie is the same as the 650.

Well according to www.buykawasaki.com you guys have it backwards. The belts are the same for the P650 and the P700. The CDI is whats different. If you dont believe me then look it up for yourself.
