After my last ride (60 miles) I was washing the Mojave and noticed that my IDS2 name plate, the one that's rivited to the aluminum body, was tarnished and looked like crap. I'm assuming this was due to the heat of the pipe, but I'm wondering if anyone else had this problem, and how/if you were able to get it cleaned and looking like new.

Also, my stainless steel end cap is no longer coming very clean. How can I clean this up?? Will a Brillo pad do the trick??

Thanks!!

I had a super trapp on my old twolf. I didnt bother to clean it. I think the brillo would work, where my dad work thats how they polish the aluminum. The only problem i had with mine was i broke the disk screws in the muffler.

HSR, Check out www.shineshop.com. They are a specialty shine shop in Lakeside, Oregon. They also sell products to clean and polish all types of metal. I have used the green and white formulas. They are very effective, but also quite expensive, but a little goes a long way. Carl Jacobsen is the proprietor. He is a very nice gentleman and very knowledgeable when it comes to shining up metal things. I found him(his website) a couple of years ago when I was trying to shine up some pontoons on a pontoon boat. I still have partial bottles of the green and white polishes. PM me if you need any more info. I'll be glad to help you and anyone else that might be interested .

Supertrapp customer service is excellent, when the badge on my pipe faded I called them and they sent me another one.

I also have a supertrapp and the symbol turned a bronze color. Don't know if this is what you harescrambleracer. That's the only part that turned color, but the info that supertrapp sends when you they send the exhaust, states the supertrapp symbol will change color after it has been heated.

I decided to just remove the name plate and polish the entire pipe to a mirror-like finish with Mothers aluminum polish.
