What clip on the needle-kfx-700
#1
I installed a dynojet kit on my V. I am at sea level, as per instructions I installed the clip in the fifth position, this has produced a rich "feel"(not as quick to rev). I am wondering if anyone has ran their V on the fourth or even third clip. The tapering on that dynojet needle is way smaller than stock. I'm riding tommorow and am thinking about dropping to the fourth clip tonight so I don't *slug* off the line. Anybody...your thoughts would be appreciated.-Carl

I was one of the first to try the dj in the Pra. 650 and the 5th notch was rich on it, I did the 4th notch and kept the main's at what they said along with the air screw adjustment and it worked well, The jet kit did not perform any better than by just useing bigger stock jet's and shimming the need;es a little, i wasted money on the jet kit, as i now have just bigger Keihin main's in mine and it does better now than with the dj kit

I tried getting mine dialed in with the stock needles. Didnt work. Kept getting a sputter in the mid range. Shimmed the needles up still didnt work. Went with the dyno jet kit and noticed the same thing as you. What i did was drill 5 3/8 holes on the left side of the airbox lid. Ran great after that! perfect! The kit is supposed to be run with an aftermarket filter. So it makes it a hair on the rich side.

Thanks Guys- I think I will try the fourth notch and open my slider vents 7/8 as compared to 1/2. The main reason I put the dynojet kit on was to try and richen up the bottom end&mid. I have noticed the taper is much more than that of the stock needle. You are right the kit doesn't up the power, I just wanted the V to be a little richer for we run hard in 100 degree heat in sand untill it's time to refuel. Before I did all this I ran Keihn mains @ 160f/165r with my vents 2/3 open and it ripped.
