Default 2003 Prairie 650 Overheating

I have a 2003 Prairie 650 and have been riding 4-5 times one time in mud. My temperature light flashes now after riding just a little while then it will go off. It goes off if I stop and let it cool off, it goes off sometimes if I keep riding and just ignore it. Has anyone heard anything about the temperature sensing unit on these atv's? It has had the initial service done already. I can see the front of the radiator and it doesn't appear to be clogged. The coolant level is full. I need some advice, this darn light is getting old quick. What is the best way to completely clean the outside of the radiator?

Thank you,

David

I don't know about the 2003 but the 2002 has a plastic piece that sits just under the bottom of your rad. That piece just holds all the mud in there so take it out. I have a #2000 superwinch on my 650 and took that plastic piece out and I have never had an overheating problem.

plastic piece on bottom of radiator--get rid of it--mud&junk builds up on top of it partially blocking radiator
