I've Been Robbed! (black spring)

Cleve, I also have stock tires. My advice is to stay with the stock spring. I might try the red primary spring just to see what happens. Has any one tried this setup? How about EPI's pro kit? What exactly is included in the pro kit? Different helix maybe? EPI is very respected in the snowmobile world and they have a very short time to develop a clutch kit for any given sled. Sleds change by leaps and bounds every year. Hell, some of the limited edition 440 race sleds are released only days before the first big race! How long has the P650 been around? Three years?! I guess I just don't understand how they can sell us components that haven't been proven on a machine that is basically a dinosaur compared to the rest of the CVT transmission using world!

Nova, thanks for the info, I hadn't read your other post until just now. It looks like you are making progress on the EPI weights.
However, Alltoys said he likes the 360 weights. What do you think of that idea, or do you think they are a little light? I wish I had a set. They are $25 at ronayers (I'm not sure, but the parts diagram says that four weights are included with that part #). 39152-1096
Did you get the spider off with the pulley on the engine? Or did you take the pulley off.

Sledheadrich - the kit I have IS the Pro Series kit. It comes with springs and weights, but no helix.
Nyroc - I don't know about the 360 weights other than if they are the same shape and a lighter weight than the 650 weights, they will rev higher. They would make my original problem worse - revving too high at higher speeds.
I pulled the clutch off completely the first time I changed the weights. All the other times I just took the belt off - you can change the weights with the clutch completely assembled and on the machine. I borrowed 2 extremely thin-walled 10mm sockets from my dealer to get the nuts off the weight bolts. Alltoys made his own sockets on his lathe.
The weights are $25 a piece.
My over-revving problem is not a big problem; my machine will still pull most everything else around here in a drag race. I'm just trying to fine-tune every last bit out of the 650.
