Default v-force gear shift problem

after 10 hour service they adjusted rear brake so tight that i had a hard time getting it into gear
the shifter started twisting on the bars but!!! before i could bring it back to dealer i rolled the
*&%#@ thing over on a huge burm bent the frame and handle bars all fix now i put on the trail tech x-bars
with clamp and computer but the gear selector dosent fit tight enough has anyone but on new bars
yet how can i get this thing tight i was thinking of butting a set screw though the bottom between the cables
but it looks like the switch inside needs to rotate? help......

As I recall it either slid on or could have the back taken off and then put on and tightened. Now if you are talking about the thumb throttle, then it needs to have that set tab ground down flush with a dremel tool.

Default v-force gear shift problem

There was a pin on both sides that I removed to install my X bars. As I removed the pins, it occured
to me that I might have to use a shim of some kind to make sure it fit snug enough.............. but both
the gear shift and throtle fit snuggly without shims.

Default v-force gear shift problem

VForcer both sides have that little nub. I learned the hard way myself on the shift side, I had ground it off, then realized that that little nub helps it from turning. On the othewr side, throttle side I actually drilled a small hole for the nub, works great there. Back to the gear shifter side , I drilled a samall hole once I removed the top of the plastic cover exposing the gear shift mechanism through the side into the ignition button casing and screwd a very small sheet metal srew through to hold the gear shifter to the ignition and this prevents it from turing. Hope this helps!!
