If it is just the fuzzy surface rust, wire brush or sand it, if you have access to a sandblaster, take the rotors off and it will make them look great. If the rust has pitted into the surface at all, get rid of them, the pits will cause brake noise and uneven or rapid pad wear due to debris catching in the pits.

Technically 95 wolv is right, but if it is just going to be a beater, try it first and see if it stops Ok.

well basically it is a beater. The engine is out at my buddies house gettin rebuilt. I am in the process of repainted the whole frame. Im not trying to make it perfect just a couple coats of spray paint and a couple clear coats. nothin expensive.
The whole thing is apart, i'll just take the rotors off and wire brush and sane them clean. what grit sandpaper?

Either 80 or 120 grit, you want to get down to the good metal, and remove any glazing from the old pads, a fresh metal surface will help your new pads seat better and wear longer.
