i have a few questions for the p650

As for coolant and oil, I am staying with Kawasak's. Especially durring warranty, keeping recipts.
The winch is another story. I dunk mine under water almost every time I ride.
So far there is only one sealed unit out there and it is not cheap. Warn's 3.0ci. It is the only one I know of that has a lifetime warrenty. I have learned if you get the earlier models under water, and you do not remove and disasymble and clean it out, you are looking for it to not work when you need it. The brushes will clog with silt as with the clearances between the windings and magnet. I was going to try drilling drain holes untill the 3.0ci came out.
Sure it will take a few clean water crossings but if left unattended it will clog up. I know from experiance. If water is a rare thing for you then the others may be OK. I have no experiance with other brands.
I have been doing business with these folks for years. Their prices are almost always the best.

I don't know about the best, but an ideal coolant is water and some water wetter added. Since I live in an area that winters I use a 70/30 mix (70% water/30% antifreeze) and some water wetter.
The best oil is oil that is changed when needed. You can use any grade recommended by Kawi in the engine and the front diff. You must use Kawichem or Mobil 424 in the rear diff because of the wet brake system. I use 10w40 in my engine and front diff. Don't use synthetic until you have some time on the machine, maybe at the 100 hr change.
Therock is right on about the winch. Buy a cheap one, sink it, neglect it, and you will be cursing it as a piece of junk. The Warn and Ramsey 2500 have some good deals out there if you search hard enough. They are virtually the same. My next winch will be the Warn 3.0 for the reasons therock mentioned. I sink mine often and deep.
Welcome to the forums.
Keep in mind that you can search for many common topics and readily find the info you are looking for. A good place to look is Nyroc's site also.

I was going to buy a bottle of Water Wetter one day. Reason I didnt was because it said to not at antifreeze when using water wetter. Why does the bottle say this and what is it going to hurt? DWB, in your 70/30 mix how much water wetter are you using?
As far as anwering the original question,
I never changed coolant yet and have no opinion on it
I use Mobil 1 MX4T 10w-40 synthetic oil. I believe it was around 300 miles when I switched to synthetic.
No experiences with winches so no comments.

I have a bottle. It doesn't say not to use antifreeze. It recommends using less antifreeze. The less the better. The reason is that antifreeze has a much lower heat content than water. A pound of antifreeze won't absorb as much heat as a pound of water.
That fact is partly the reason water wetter works so well. The other half is that it reduces surface tension and makes vapor bubbles smaller (hot heads cause vapor bubbles). This allows water to transfer a little more heat from the head.
Bottom line is use as little antifreeze as your climate will allow, but don't use less than 15% in an engine that you leave the coolant in year round. That recommendataion is for an automobile. I use 50/50.

As I understand it, Water Wetter won't protect your machine from the cold (it is not an antifreeze) but I can tell you from experience, it does an excellent job protecting your machine from the heat. I drained my p650
(including the reservoir), mixed 6unces of WW to a gallon of distilled water and refilled the radiator and reservoir. The difference was remarkable to say the least. After I wrapped the first 8 inches of the front exhaust pipe with insulating tape the cooling system worked even better (especially at slow speeds).
I live in Southern California so freezing is only a very slight concern. Heat, on the other hand, definately dogs your donkey daily. So...I handed the antifreeze it's hat and embraced the cool.
I wish I could take credit for these cooling ideas myself....but I can't. No...I found the information on a website.
Ladies and gentlemen.....I give you nyroc! <applause>

Im gonna go to that race shop again to look at the lable and to be exactly sure what I was looking at. Im pretty sure the lable I read said antifreeze should not be used with this product.

Tim, we sell REDLINE products here at the dealership and the SUPERCOOL with WATERWETTER says" Fortifies all coolants and improves the ability of coolant to wet heat transfer surfaces by 50%. This provides significantly better coolant contact in cylinder head and can reduce coolant and head temperature by as much as 20 degress F. Redline supercool with waterwetter does not alter the freezing point". It goes on saying to keep antifreeze below the 50% mix and 15% is prefered for max cooling with waterwetter, so you can mix it with antifreeze. Take a vacation and come out west, stop by and I'd even give you a bottle...LOL
