prairie 650 trannies

Just a heads up on any shifting or grinding problems. My 650 had shifting problems from day one. It would be adjusted perfect and after 10 kms it wouldn't work properly. I kept saying the tranny was done but kawi won't warranty until it breaks. Well it did!! My quad has been down for 68 days waiting on parts. The company has admitted to 3 complete failures but I wonder why there aren't any parts if the machines are so dependable. Somrthing doesn't jive. I've sold some quads for kawi cause everyone liked the power but no more. I can hardly wait to get mine back so I can sell it.

Every once in a while somebody gets a bad machine. It seems transmission problems hardly ever happen with the 650.
My 02 650 is solid as a rock. I am 100% sure kawasaki is the best machine out there.
1. If there are more failures that Kawasaki expected, you would have to wait a long time for parts. They also could just have a supply problem. Part availability has nothing to do with overally reliability. They could have only expected 2 failures and yours is the 3rd and you are the first guy that is waiting for parts. Still doesn't mean the machine is unreliable. No correlation at all.
Your dealer could suck. That is possible. We have heard of many dealers that are very stupid in their treatment of customers.
I understand why you are mad. You paid a lot and got a lemon. But the facts are the 650 holds up better than the competition with the exception of the belt and tires (but those can be fixed easy).
Focus your anger on something else. Don't sell the best machine cuz you are mad just so you can buy the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th best machine. Doesn't add up.
Anger causes men to act irrationally. Go for a walk. Kick the neighbors dog. Make a bonfire and explode some aerosol cans. But don't sell the best ATV. Sell this one and get another 650 maybe.

There's always going to be a bad one every now and then. I wish you best of luck. I hope you get those parts ASAP so you can go out and enjoy that beast! That sucks!
