Default Painting Plastic ?

heres the best way to paint plastics i did mine this way and they came out amazing first you will need 3 types of sand paper 60 80 and 120 grits first you will want to sand the plastics with the 60 grit just coarsly soak in oxiclean for about 10 minutes ok then you want to get a towel and wipe clean go over with a coat of paint i used black spray paint and i think that would probally be best let dry for about 20 minutes then get the 80 grit scuff up wipe off with dry towel do not re wet the plastic just wipe with dry towel after you get the dust off re spray again with the paint let dry for about another 20 minutes softly sand the dry paint with the 120 grit sand paper wipe off again with dry towel do not use a wet towel, after you get done wiping off the dust spray it again with the paint let dry now you will need about 2 cans of clear coat u can also buy that in a spray can go over the plastic preety good the first time with the clear coat let the first coat dry repeat again going over lighter on the second time let dry for about 10 minutes go over a third time this should be the final coat and should look like glass note: hang plastics from a string when painting and clearing it will decrease the chance of runs do not wax for at least 2 weeks the clear can remain tackey i think this is the best possible results u can get from painting its sounds like a lot of work but its a hell of alot better then paying $500.00 for new plastic good luck all

I've painted my firecracker red bayou camo. It look awsome. and when it wears off/chips I just touch it up with some flat black. My friends sometimes just pass me when I am parked in the woods.

Like everyone on hear that knows what they are talking about, to do it correctly, and for it to last, it will be very tedious. The plastic spray paint which some speak of does not work at all and thats being said from personal experience, it causes more hassle than it does good. For the correct steps in painting your plastics, visit: http://www.urethanesupply.com/atvpainting.php. Here you will find how to do it the CORRECT way.
