Default V-Force Testing --complete-- UPDATE 09/07/03

Adam Howell said some of the kawi greenteam guys tried a couple different exhausts, and the Duncan pipes made significantly more power. He said the V was .5 seconds quicker in the eighth-mile with these pipes vs. stock setup. I think this was with Duncan's recommended jetting with snorkel removed. The reason I chose Duncan was their reputation combined with several other mods they have in the works. They are working on a different ring and pinion, cdi, and performance cams right now. I'm sure they will make all these pieces work well together. I didn't want to get into a lot of mixed brand parts and have to do a lot of trouble shooting. They pride themselves in their R&D. I personally spoke with Lenny Duncan, and he was very confident in this exhaust system. He actually said that he "guaranteed" it to be the best. I should receive mine in the next couple of days.

i've been leaning towards the duncan just because they seem to have the fastest quads so it just mkaes seems to make sense................BUT then i heard that the yoshi is the only one with a crossover pipe. i know a little about x-pipes for mustangs and that sounds like a good idea too..........what to do???????????thanx for all of your help.-Sean

I forgot to mention that I called Trinity and they had nothing for the V. As far as the crossover, I also have a mustang with the h-pipe I considered that feature also, but didn't buy into it very much. I did read a post that said yoshi recommended stock jetting. I didn't like the sound of that. I don't remember what Duncan recommended, but I do know they were larger than stock. They ship the jets with the system. They also recommend removing airbox snorkel. If they truly knock off a half second in the eighth-mile, that will be hard to beat for an exhaust mod. I noticed your sig says you are putting the V on a diet. Have you had any luck with any weight savings?

Default V-Force Testing --complete-- UPDATE 09/07/03

mostly stupid stuff: took off every metal or plastic fender bracket that i could, most just snap the fender when you crash (from experience), you only need the frame mounts, cut/drilled the fenders, renthals/dg and t-9s are all lighter than stock. moved my ignition stuff so i could toss that goofy mounting spot, key bends in stock location when you roll (again from experience), gonna mod my airbox i think-can't decide whether to lose the snorkel all together or fab some sort of intake hose/ram air kind of thing?
i think you've got me sold on the duncan's, just want to hear how it works out for you. pretty nice of you guys to test this stuff out so i can do it right the first time.hehe. thanx again-Sean
