Installing Ricochet Skid Plates, DG Snorkle. Advise?
Gonna do the Ricochet and DG Snorkle & K&N thing. I'd like some advance heads up on it. What do I need to know going in. If I don't ask it please advise.
The snorkle . Basically what is involved and will I need to Re-Jet here in N. Georgia @ 800 to 1300 ft? I know how to read plugs but need to know if it will be OK without Re-Jetting at first. Can anyone in this area \ elevation save me the trouble and give me their Jetting set up with a K&N?
The Ricochet Skid Plate . I want to do this with the Quad standing up. I know to shut off the gas but are there any other precautions I need to take when sitting Her up for a long period. Will the Oil migrate to a bad place?
Thanks

Adirondack,
I saw your reply where said you did no rejetting after installing the DG snorkle. Did you notice any significant gains in acceleration/power using this snorkle without rejetting or was the difference in acceleration/power pretty minor? Just curious.

The snorkle is the piece that attaches to the front of the airbox and funnels air into it. The DG Snorkle is slightly wider and has less restrictive bends than the stock snorkle on the Prairie 650 (maybe the new 700 as well). I did notice power improvement, but nothing radical. The gains were slight. However, when coupled w/ NYROC muffler modification and jetting, the gains are very noticeable! If you are not going to modify the exhaust and rejet, I would say that the money spent on a DG Snorkle is not worth it, IMO. I have heard that you can purchase a piece of radiator hose, from NAPA, to replace the stock snorkle, that also allows greater airflow into the airbox.
