Whats up the four-wheeler and two-stroke engines? Why can all the manufactors produce two-stroke Mx bikes but can't produce two-stroke four-wheelers? Something is up here! A guy from the Yamaha forum says that the 2001 Banshee has the 426cc engine in it and he already put a down payment on it. Because he knows a guy in the yamaha plant.

 

2 strokes are more hassle in regards to tuning and fuel mixture based on climate and sea level.

4 strokes provide a much more consistant torque curve and generally produce more torque. With more torque you can pull a taller gear (less numerically) and even taller tires.

In regards to that new Yamaha bike, I think that guy is pulling your leg. There was just an article in Dirt Wheels about a project Banshee with a YZ400 MX engine in it, with mods to raise the displacement.

Unless I hear it from a manufacturer or dealer, I don't believe it.
