Default 220 Bayou starter problem

I've got a Bayou with a starter that doesn't work very well. When you push the starter button the starter doesn't just crank, it seems to bind up and go eiiiiiiieiiiiiiiii. I took the machine apart and the starter drives a gear that is mounted between the engine case and the side cover under the pull starter. The gear just rides in the aluminum case and the hole it rides in is oval shaped. Has anyone else had this problem?

ive seen this prob many times, you can use a bushing off a car starter motor, ive found these at napa auto, you drill out the case and be careful not to drill to far into the case it will go through,

I've looked all over town for a bushing with no luck. Can you give any more details on what I should be looking for?
