Default new cdi for v-force scary thought

Fullthrottle, Shotgun,
To take full advantage of extra timing it would be very good to have full timing come on at 3000 rpm plus the Kawi can handle 36* very well. This is what a new cdi would incompass plus more top end at least if they wanted to make a good performance cdi.

This may sound a little crazy, but what is stopping someone from stuffing a cdi in from, say a Vulcan 800, or some other v-twin that may not be set with the ignition de-tuned from the factory? The curve may not be exactly right for dirt riding, but maybe it would still be better than the stock unit.

the vulcan 800 is a 55deg v-twin
p650 90deg v-twin
program may be diffrent
the 650-700 has one pickup some of the other v-twin have two!!

Doesn't the pickup tell the cdi when to fire according to crankshaft position, in that case it wouldn't matter what angle the cylinders are? I could be wrong on this one.

it may work but the cdi with one pickup for two cyl is digital not analog so it might not be programed right
the rev limit on the vulcan 800 is 7000?
the vulcan 750 has two pickups and will not work

Reds650 ,Does Kawasaki make a digital unit for a v-twin other than for the v-force or prairie that is not de-tuned, and at a descent rev limit. I just think it would be cool if we could buy a factory made cdi that only takes some re-wiring (I'm just dreaming), and swap it in. (on someone else's quad as a guinea pig of course).

Even if it is wiring a single pickup running into a dual pickup, wouldn't that make it fire twice as often as it should, in which case it would be during the exaust stroke and the ignition stroke. It would probably wear out the spark plugs twice as fast, but who cares if it produces great power!

This is just an assumption with no solid proof backing it up, just a thought!

Why couldn't the 650 guys use the cdi out of the V; it's basically the same motor. keep using the stock CDI to run everything but the timing and use the second, V CDI for the timing?

Red; will it work?

there is no reason you can not run the v ignition but the rev limiter is not changed.not sure about timing on top end?no low speed limiter though.
What do you think the cdi runs besides the ignition there is no outputs besides wires for the coils that I can see am i missing something?

crank triggered cdi fire on intake exaust as well as compression anyway .it will fire twice per rev 90deg btdc on the front cyl and 270 btdc on the rear.since it fires twice as often the rev limit would have to be 16000 to give you 8000

If the V CDI holds 28 degrees, all the way through, then it would certainly would be more power on top end. the 650-700 should put out as much speed and power as the V's, only difference being the weight.

I don't know what esle the CDI runs, when the V's first came out, everyone said the V's CDI wouldn't work, so I assumed that the 650 CDI, ran, something the V didn't have.....braking, 4x4, diff lock, I don't know, that's what why I asking you. The 650 has the speed sensor to trigger fire, what triggers the V's.
