all ebay will do is close the auction and delete the user. then the scammer will just open another email account and get another user name.

The only sure fire way Not to get screwed is to not buy it if you can't see it in person. Its way to easy for these d!@k$ to get an account and post some info about how great their $7,000 quad was but they just got bored with it. Anyone who buys a quad over the internet might as well bend over and show them where to stick it because they getting Forked.

When selling your ATV on any of those..ATVTrader or Ebay....put CONTACT: Your email address embedded in the photo as a watermark. Any photo editing program will let you ad TEXT to a jpg.

That way they can't hijack your photo.

Not true. I've purchased 3 2002 Polaris 700 Twins...all through the internet on Ebay. I posted some tips in another post on how to not get ripped-off. It just takes a little effort to ensure you've got a good seller. Hard...but not impossible. An honest Ebay seller will go the extra mile to make sure you're comfortable.

I spent $16,000 on 3 700 Twin Sportsmans with a combined 587 miles. 2 of the 3, still have 3 years on the warranty. New, I would have spent about $24,000.

Ken's absolutely right. There are certain ways to make a safe transaction for both the buyer and the seller. The true sellers know this and will work with you on these methods. Let's not forget there are honest people on eBay and Trader, you just gotta screen through the @$$holes to find them.
