past the break in, got a question, v force

I am starting to ride it a little harder and was wandering what the diffrence is when you install the epi pink spring. What are the advatages, will it wheelie as easy. what I am interested in is lifting the front end over small puddles, dips, rocks, at speed around 20mph I guess?

From what I’ve experienced with my V-Force (completely stock) using the pink spring (or some other spring stiffer than the stocker) can work against you when it comes to pulling the front end up. With the torque of the big V-twin, the front end will come up easier when you bang the throttle at lower RPMS than it does at higher RPMs. With a stiffer spring installed once you get up to trail cruising speed you will find that you will probably be running at a higher RPM range than before since the stiffer spring causes the tranny to shift at a higher engine RPM. This may be good for keeping your revs up if you were going up some long steep hill (which is not really necessary given all the torque that this engine has) and you wanted to keep the revs constant, and is a plus if you want to drag race, but if you all of a sudden you want to snap the throttle to pop the front end up you will find that it will take more pull at the handlebars than before because you wont get as much help from the engine.
With this in mind I feel the stock spring works better for general trail riding situations (where popping the front end up over obstacles, puddles, etc. is routine). For other uses such as racing where acceleration is more important than wheelies on demand, then you want the bike to rev higher before shifting (especially if you have an after market exhaust or other mods which raises the power peak to a higher RPM). In this case you want a stiffer spring (and the EPI pink would be the first step up from the stock spring).
