Default P650 Break in

It looks like I may finally be able to get my Prairie. I have located a new '03 Prairie for a good price, but I won't be able to get it until the day after Christmas. I was planning on going to Dumont on New Years weekend, so how many miles do I have to put on it before I can ride hard?

They say 10 hours of light ride, change your fluids and ride it a little harder just give it some time before you go *****-2-the-wall

check out "www.mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htm", some interesting info on engine break in. The manual does say 10hrs of no more than 1/2 throttle, in my opinion you should just break it in like you're going to ride it, just no sustained full throttle runs. Have fun, its a great machine, works real good for pulling out stuck Hondas. Oh yeah, of course, do change all your fluids after the first few hours.

The prairie has a fairly full functioned display, hour meter, odo, two trip meters, etc. Only thing missing is a gps, just gotta add one I guess. One thing to check out, make sure your belt is not loose from the factory, mine was, had to replace it with only about 250 miles on it, been good ever since I tightened it up. I imagine some dealers must know how to set the belt deflection, still best to check it yourself I think though. Have fun.

I'm sure I will love it, and have plenty of fun! The problem is having to wait 3 weeks to get it, since I am getting it 750 miles away! I will be saving about $1000, and I get to see some relatives in Utah on the way.
