Prarie 700
#2
I just rode one this afternoon in the dealer's parking lot and in a word, awesome. The machine acceleration has to be "felt" by the rider to appreciate it.
I went down to a Honda dealer and then stopped at the Kawi dealer. The Prairie also seems physically bigger than a Rincon or looks bigger to me outside in the lot even though dimensions are about the same in the numbers. Looks more like a heavy duty machine with bigger racks than a Rinny as well.
I liked them both real good but that power is un real as the front wheels wanted to lift off the ground so I didn't really punch it, just opened it slowly and your doing 30-35mph in like a couple of seconds. Unreal.
Also I had some problems about noise with an 03 650 but it was not as I remembered the 650 Today. The 700's V-Twin was even quiter than the Rinny to My Ear. The thing idles low and has NO Vibration what so ever. It is smooth, granted the belt tranny does make some noise but it was WAY quieter than what I was expecting and the enging braking was awesome even in the dealer's lot. As soon as I let off the throttle the quad immediatly began slowing itself rapidly down and you really wouldn't even have to use the brakes to slow yourself in alot of more open areas or conditions. I don't remember the engine braking being that strong on the 650 I had.
After seeing it in person the racks and front end do look better than the old 650s, more of a utility type of look.
When you mash the thumb throttle in you feel you guts comming up in your chest. Should be called the G-Force.
