I'm about to buy a Prairie off of the internet. Trust me, I'm taking every step necessary to be safe about it. I'm not going to get ripped off so please don't post on this thread just to warn me about the dangers of internet ATV buying because I know the ropes. Anyway, I was wondering if there was a place you can verify the VIN numbers on ATVs? Heck, how does the VIN number help you anyway if you can't verify it somehow? Thanks!

 

Have your local dealer run the VIN thru Kawasaki. They can tell who sold it, how long its been warranty registered and the name of who bought it.

I know they found some stolen ATV's in this area just last week doing this same thing.

 

I would try to run the VIN through the highway patrol or your local police to see if it has been reported stolen.
