From what I have read, the 700 is faster than the 400. I will find out when I run my friend's piped 400. In the trails, it would probably be rider ability for the faster part. My friend with the 400 is a better rider so I would assume he would take me. I would say IMO 700 is "better" for the trails due to the Holeshots, ground clearance, auto tranny and torque. In the snow, anyhting that moves is fun. That one is a toss up.

My only experience is in the sand, and the 700 is faster. I once even outran a totally built Z440 with cams, porting, etc.

I am a raptor rider but also have raced and rode both a stock VFORCE and a modded Z400. The VFORCE is the only one that gave me a close run even at stock. As for the snow question you will like the VFORCE. It has the weight and power to get traction in anything less than 15 inches or so. Also it is fun because you do not have the clutch to switch whcih allows you to get sideways just about anytime you want. The automatic won't wear you out as fast either.

We'll I am in Louisiana so i don't even know what snow is but I can tell you that in the dirt the 700 is definantly faster. I have drag raced with several different ones and there is always several bike lengths between us, and I am a pretty big guy with a so far stock bike. (not for long though)
