Default need help on timing 02 Prairie 650

My Prairie 650 won't start after a top end rebuild after a royal swamping in a mud bog. I know there is good spark and it appears that fuel is flowing. I am also certain that I put the cam back in place just like I found it and I never turned the engine over when I had the cam removed. I have constant suction on my exhaust pipe as the engine turns trying to start. I need some advise on checking my timing and after that is verified I will check my valves.

You may have the Cams 180 degrees out or reversed? You think?

That would be my first guess. I am positive I put the cam chain back correctly. I marked the chain and the cam with liquid paper to ensure I put it back together exactly how it came apart and I never rotated the engine. Unless for some reason when you dissasemble you are to put it back together 180 off. I am wondering about the KACR (kawi auto compression release) unit. Do you know anything about it and if it may require the cam to be out back together 180 off from where you take it apart.

thanks,
D
