Default 4X4 selector slow to kick in.

Thanks a Lot for your Reply, It's 10:30 PM and I just came back from a ride on the snow and I was to get stuck but waited until the 4wd kicked in then I unleashed the beast and even my father in law on My 02 Grizz couldn't follow. I try to get her going before the 4wd indicator came out but there was a small nasty noise and then the 4wd kicked in.

Guess I'll talk to my dealers went I take for the first Oil change on Monday.

Once you find yourself stuck and need 4WD ,and you can't move more than about 6'' ,that's when things get ugly!

I found that out a couple of days ago when I was stuck on a very steep hill, in 2 wheel drive. I had hell trying to get into 4WD! I guess next time I will be prepared, and have it in 4WD before I get myself in that situation.

That is what I will do from now on, if I think that 4-wheel drive may be needed I will flip the switch.
On my SP600 I enjoyed testing the limits of 2-wheel drive until it was stuck then switch to 4-wheel with no complaint from the machine. On the P700 I tried this one time and quickly realized this was a bad thing to do. It,s like the front wheels need to be turning to get the drive to smoothly engage.

I use to like to test the 2wd until I would get stuck but when your stuck, your stuck!!! and from now on I will put it on 4wd a little before the mud or before the big hill. I guess that the only thing I can do to avoid getting stuck.

Thats what i do...... get it in 4x4 before you need it. that way you can pull your friends out when they get stuck. LOL

After reading the ATV manual, I came trought an interesting information saying that passing from 4wd to 2wd, the tranny can executed that task right away but when passing from 2wd to 4wd, it might have a small delay but can be faster by giving a bit of trotle and the wheel to turn slowly. So If stuck and put it on 4X4 don't give too much trottles until the 4wd indicator lights up.
