P650 Warn Winch
#1
Being from the old school that lighter is faster, I havent mounted my winch yet.Always when I ride the bad, rough mountain trails and thru the muddy forest, my wife is also riding her Kodiak that has a winch.
Has anyone installed their winch on a temporary basis or " quick detachable basis ?

There are a few systems out there that let you mount the winch front, or rear, and swap around, ie. Montana Jacks. Surely, with one of those types of systems you could leave the winch at home when you want to. Of course Murphy's Law says that the time you leave the winch home is the time you are going to need it

Go HERE. Montanajacks stuff is pricey but reall built well. I have the chainsaw carrier but made up my own receiver for it. The really big dollars is where they want you to buy their reciever system. But it's involved and heavy. When I purchased the saw carrier it was kinda tough getting it without the receiver but I insisted their receiver does not apply. I really like the carrier and at 149.00 alone it hurt a little but it is really nice.
There may be more cost effective stuff out there. Good luck.

I got my multi mount from:

I like to carry it in the rear. Wiring can be a problem, see the other winch post for my details. I would buy one again.
