Went down to my service department today and they said I was overdue for a clutch service with just over 1000 miles is this something that needs to be done every 1000 miles at $150 a shot?

Default P650 Clutch Service

The '02 model Prairies have an inferior secondary clutch... if serviced, it may last longer ( perhap they just started doing this ??? ), I had to replace my secondary, as it was shot at about 1200 miles... if the pooly designed bushing had been greased at 1000 miles, it may have lasted longer... the part was updated in '03, & if you have to order one for your '02 model, now you will automatically get the redesigned unit...

I have a 360 belt on mine ( same width, but thicker than the 700 belt, however, even though I have updated clutches, I had installed a 360 belt into my old clutches, before I learned that my secondary was shot ), there were no changes made to the clutch that would allow it to run the other belts... the 700 belt is just an improved belt, designed to handle the higher power better, & will install into the '02 clutches, provided they are shimmed properly to handle the wider belt...

If you remove your belt cover, the primary clutch is the "pulley assembly" in the frontof the belt, & the secondary clutch is the rear "pulley assembly", at the back of the belt... both "pulley's get larger & smaller, as the quad speeds up & slows down...
