Dial-A-Jet Mounting for the Prairie
#1
I just got mine today, and I have a question! For those of you who have installed it, where did you mount the body? On the carb, or on the rubber hose leading from the airbox?
#2
On the snorkle in the air box.
Take a look at my pictures maybe that will help. The 2003 airbox is different, the holes get drilled inside of the air filter for the gas and snorkel hoses. If you need some help let me know I would be glad to help you out!

Thanks WildWill. The instructions don't say anything about mounting INSIDE the airbox. Doesn't that interfere with the operation of the Dial-A -Jet, I mean doesn't it need to have a pressure or vacuum reading from the airbox, separate form the outside air? By the way, you installation is very clean!

I mounted mine in the air box and ran the snorkels out the front. It looks and works great.

Just looked at wild’s pic’s and mine came with brackets to mount in the box instead of tie wraps. Either way it’s mounted in the same place on the horn

Custom mine came with the correct fittings for the float bowl. I posted earlier that it’s real easy to twist these brass fittings off in the bowl. They have to be in enough that the float bowl drain does not drain the tank out. Once inside you will see how far in they need to go. I was so happy to get installing I twisted it right off.

It feeds off of vibrations not pressure, and it needs fresh air to work correctly. Drill some practice plastic to see what diameter holes work best for ya, before you ruin your airbox.
The shorter the gas lines the better and run your snorkel lines up into the shourding around your handel bars that will keep mud and water from the small snorkle filters.

wildwill-- very nice work, indeed! I was impressed with your rear diff. updates of the 'Force diff. reinforcer, and the cup/wiper seals for the axle. COOL! I had thought about doing the same on my 02 P-650, I bought a P-700 instead. Nice work, dude!

Mine is mounted similar to WILDWILL's, but I drilled 2 more holes in the recessed part of the cover, so that I can clearly see the Dial-a-jet snorkle filters, sitting in the recessed part of the cover...
