Prairie mods, what next?
Well I got $500 in fun money to spend. I've got $200 left. So far I got the following: EPI Black Spring, High Lifter Lift Kit and a garage heater. Gotta keep the Prairie warm, lol. I was thinking progressive springs but then didn't order them. What do you think for $200? I'm looking to get thru more mud. Snorkel?

Read the tread "turning that 'old' P650 into a ripper" - there is alot of good info in there. Newbeatle said, and I agree, that one of the cheapers mods is getting more air to and from the engine. Napa has a part (#7335) for about $13.00 to replace the stock snorkle tube to get more air to the engine. Then you need another air filter - I have heard alot of good things about the twin air filter (less than $50.00?). Then you can do the NYROC's muffler mod at very little cost (drill bit and paying someone to weld your muffler back back on). Then as I understand it, you will need to check to see if it is running too lean (white pugs) or too rich (black plugs) to determine if the carb needs re-jetting. That Dial-a-jet seems pretty slick for handleing this and is just over $100.00 or change the jets for cheaper - but you have the hassle of checking jetting and rejetting. Now let me say this, this is all according to my understand of these mods.
I actually called NAPA today and they have that part # 7335 and I am picking it up tonight. I plan of doing the NYROC's muffler mod sometime soon. After that I will check the plugs to see if I am too rich/lran and then probably go w/ the dial-a-jet.....
