messed up dial-a-jet install!! HELP!!

I wonder if this is the case for your bikes, because the pipes and airbox mods might not increase the power as much as say a Sparks or Ct racing pipe and airbox mods on a Raptor? What kind of power increase are you guys seeing on teh dynos from your mods?

Here's my take on the DAJ - for me, this ROCKS! Put one on my Predator - and as mentioned before - my reasoning is that I ride in a 6k variance of elevation (phoenix vs. Cinders in Flagstaff). It is true that you need to create a lean condition to make this work. At the time I installed it, I did an airbox mod, piped it, and added a K&N. It's running a little rich, but my quad flat out hauls. You will need to adjust your air screw also - that could be part of the problem. I wouldn't recommend it if your quad is stock, unless you drop at least 3 jet sizes. But I have ZERO complaints. It's working perfectly for me.

See, you're the second person that has a high performance quad like a Predator, 250R, Raptor, etc. that has said that they love the DAJ's. Most of the utility quad owners that I've read don't like them. There's a trend starting here. I'm still leaning towards it on my raptor.

i can only give you my experiance and opinion. Sport or sport ute, it doesn't matter. The way DAJ's work does not change. With the mods to the intake and exhaust i completed i was flowing significantly more air than stock. With stock jetting i was so rich i fouled plugs and only got 20-25 miles per tank of gas.......
I may be wrong but i don't care how many mods you do, I believe you will have to jet down when you install your DAJs. From my stock size of 138/142 i am down to a 132/135 IN SPITE of the modified intake and COMPLETE ProCircuit exhaust, and i am still probably two sizes TO LARGE. I went for a 30 mile ride this past sunday and I was on fumes when i got back to the trailer.
CT or Curtis Sparks can't perform miracles......
Good luck if you decide to go with DAJ's. let us know how things turn out.

As stated you need to make a lean condition for the dial-a-jets to work.
One of the obvoius reasons why they would be easier to dial in on a sports bike is one cyclinder vs. two on the Priarie.
Although I used my dial -a-jets in not the normal way, I'm also hot and cold about them.

I guess I just wonder if the same mods on ya'll's bikes are equivalent power/flow increases to something like a Raptor? For some reason I find it hard to beleive that one guy with an aftermarket exhaust and airbox mods can make it run very strong, and the next utility quad, because of whatever reason isn't flowing the same amount of air difference and runs rich!

i'm not saying that the raptor will not react differently than the prairie. In reality the raptor should be much easier to tune than the prairie seeing that is has one less of everything. If you put the DAJ's on your rappy you may have a totally different experiance than i, but from my experiance i cannot recommend them UNLESS you plan on riding in exteamly varying elevations, then all the effort to get them dialed in would be worth it.
good luck and let us know what you decide to do.

I installed the DAJ (with snorkle tube) on mr 250R a 1 1/2 ago and I love it. The first thing I noticed was a crisper throttle response, quicker acceleration and it even pulls better on topend now. I do not ride at different elevations but it has come in real handy from summer to winter climate changes (100+ to 35 Deg) I try not to ride in any colder than that lol. I have bought a lot of mods over the years for my R and nothing has brought me more satisfaction than the DAJ. Just thought I would give you guys my take on the DAJ.

iam not crazy about daj either i took mine off but if your motor is rich the daj's won't work. so if you're running rich it's not the daj. i've actually thought about putting them back on. i think i just got used to them. the motor doesn't seem to be up to par and i had it on a dyno and set the jetting at astrabula and either the dyno was off or they do work.
