Default 650 Prairie guys.... I have a question

Hey, Fifth, I also own 03 650. What kinda CVT grief you had. Mine CLUNKS into 4wd from 2wd when rear wheels are spinning. In 2wd, switch not touched, happens more when turning. Short?

I've only had the usual loose belt from the factory problems. I think every Prairie needs its belt shimmed and tightened when bought, this is what I was refering too. The 4 wheel unit will always go clunk if you shift it while the rear wheels are spinning. Your owners manual specifically tells you not to do this. All four wheels must be turning in uniform for it to shift...hammering it into 4x4 after your stuck will cause breakage. As far as it shifting without switching the button,is it shifting out of 4 or in? Popping out could indicate low diff fluid in the front. If it's switching back and forth of its own accord,I'd say your 4x4 actuator was bad.

Except for kingmorts that engine is almost bullet proof. The oil is the best guess, but its a guess (although I agree). You paid good money for that thing, take it to the dealer and let him sort it out.

2hr and 1.5 miles, was this a demo?

Not a demo, the bike was test driven after assembly, then test driven before delivery, test driven when it got home, and a little tootle down the street when the light started flashing.

I took it to the dealer last week, waiting for all the companies to talk to find out what to do.
Dealer calls Arctic Cat, Arctic Cat calls Kawasaki, Kawasaki calls Arctic Cat, Arctic Cat calls dealer. Dealer’s owner (the individual handling my bike) is off Wed. Thurs.

But open seven days a week for your convenience. (This part is good)

Hoping tomorrow some one knows something.... I know I sure would like to.....

Have you had them test the sensor? also check to see if the oil is pumping?

Used a mechanical gauge, comparing two bikes, mine has more or less 10lbs. to none. So I have been told....
