Cleve, The only problem with the warn winches is that they aren't waterproof. You have to take them apart at least once a year to clean the mud out and lube them, if not they will rot from the inside out. I'm not sure about the ramsey though. I ride in mud and water mostly. If you do the same, then this is what you will have to do. I actually take mine apart once every 9 months.
Good luck

Get a Warn 3000, they are waterproof, mine works fine under water. They have a new 4000 out now, too.
I have mine on a multimount, I carry it on the back, but can move to the front.

To be honest..is there really a 100% waterproof winch? I did some inquiring into the Warn 3.0,supposedly the design of it is better than the 2.5 and also has a lifetime gaurantee as compared to a 1 year on the 2.5. I found a good deal on ebay for a 3.0,$369,free shipping + handling. I hope that anybody reading this who is thinking about buying a winch won't make the same mistakes I made, spend a few extra dollars the first time around and avoid having to go through the same hassles I'm going through now! I'm going to remove the winch I have on my 650 and take it apart and see if I can salvage it.
