Default Max tire size for P650?

Hello all...
First time poster.
Im looking to upgrade my stock tires on the 650Prairie and would really like to go with 28x12x12 589s. Living in Florida we have alot of deep mudholes to play in and i was looking for a alittle extra clearance. Also, is there anyway to beef up the suspension to get a xtra inch or two without buying lift kits? Last weekend my bike was sitting next to a ARctic cat with 27s on it and it looked 7" taller.

Thanks for the replies.

I think a lot of people run 28s with the stock rims but i have heard they rub a little on the gas tank shield. A rim with 1" offset will cure this. If you do a lot of trail riding also i would think about something other than a 589. Bugs, gators or vamps. A lot of people like them but i dont. JMO. Welcome to the forum.

Welcome to the forum....the Arctic Cat has, if this is the same Arctic Cat that has the P650 motor, has independent front and rear suspension, alot of ground clearance.ITP C-Series rims and 28" tires will help alot with getting through mud but were are still limited to how deep the mud holes are because of the solid rear axle.
