Default Will I notice a difference in performance?

I am thinking about going from my stock Dunlops on stock rims to 27" Titan 589 m/t's on the stock rims.

First off will these fit the stock rims?
And second will my sporty performance be lost due to the extra weight?

I noticed a significant difference in acceleration going from stock tires to 27" 589s when we raced in a field with good traction...a lot of weight to get going. In the mud you probably won't notice too much, just keep it in low range.

Your rims will work BUT. You will have a loss of power, 589's are heavy and will make trail rides more work than fun, (unless you MUD only). Go with the 489 for all round ATVing. My 2 cent's.

Also consider the 26'' mud lites. They have a deep lug and you wont hardly notice a power loss.

yes try the mud lites i'm running 26's on stock rims. lost a little top end speed but they work great overall. plus there the lightest tire on the market. i would recommed replacing the stock rims i've bent the lip all to hell on both my front rims. i'm going to get some delta x's

I'm running 26" 589's and I feel a loss of power. Those stock tires are so light, which is why they are so bad. Even though I have lost some power, I have gained it back with the mods I have made. My brother's is stock and he is running 26" MudLites and after finishing all my stuff, I can finally beat him. He used to smoke me. A lot of people are going to those bigger tires, the 27" and the 28", but I am very happy with the 26" size and it isn't as big of a loss of power.

Is it true the mudlites wear like crap?
I like to rip around in 2wd and sling the rear out every chance I get. I don't want to replace tires all of the time. I love the looks of the Mudlites and the tread depth on the 26 inchers (and bigger).
Talk to me.......help me make up my mind.

Oh yeah money IS an issue! Kinda hard to look away from $35 589's

I have 27" Mud Lites and they do wear a little quicker than I would like, but I do ride on asphalt alot also. I think on the trail it will be fine. One thing to keep in mind with the larger tires that I didnt realize before I bought mine was the ride quality. This is why I use my Holeshots most of the time. hose heavy wheels and tires really let you feel the ruts and bumps at higher speeds. I wished from my first ride with them that I would not have went any larger the 26". Just my opinion.

I have a 04 K700 and everybody that I talk to say to stay with the rims that I have, but go to Mud Lites. They are an excellant all purpose tire and will not hurt performance. I have buddies that I bike with that have been using them for the last year and a half and do not seem to have a problem with wear. Good luck with your decision.

I went from 27" 589"s to 28"Mud Lites. The Mud Lites are a much smoother riding tire and traction seems better as well.
