Default Received my Dynatek - CDI today!

I wasn't expecting the Dyna CDI to arrive so early. I ordered it on 3/22 and actually had it delivered today 3/26 !! That's what I call Damn Good Service.

Sorry - No reports yet. No time to install it today... Plan to install tomorrow

P700,
I envy you right now! I ordered mine on 3/22 also, but I don't expect mine to next week sometime (I ordered mine within 1 min. of receiving the e-mail from Scott, so I was hopin' to be one of the lucky ones like you that got one of the first 12 they had on hand already). Please give us a full report when you have a chance to test it out tomorrow! Inquiring minds want to know!

Happy trails...

I hope this thing pulls as hard as the patch moduals do off the bottom thru the mid range band , by looking at the power graf on this thing it should be a barn burner, let us know, don't let that thing get on top of ya ....JH

Well, got the CDI installed today and went for a quick ride. Sorry - but I will not be able to do much "real" testing this W/E due to family obligations. Here's a brief recap though:

Takes all of 5 min to install (Most time consuming part is disconnecting & re-connecting the Neg battery lead if that helps explain how quick & easy the install is).

I needed to adjust (enrich) the idle circuit. My Dial-a-Jets took care of the mid and WOT air/fuel mix.

GET READY TO HANG ON! YOUR ABOUT TO NOTICE A VERY NOTICABLE INCREASE in low end torque, HP, and top end. I mean it's almost seat-of-the-pants scary on my machine!! Especially in reverse w/o the rpm limiter

Unfortunatily I wasn't able to ride at top speed due to where I live (limited riding unless I travel), and family obligations. I will verify top speed with my GPS as soon as I have a chance.

Within the next month or so I plan to travel to Cleveland (HMF) to put my machine up on their chassis Dyno. I want to double check (and tune) the air/fuel ratio with their analyzer as well as verifying HP & torque.

Sorry for the limited info - but that's all I can really provide for now.

Update: As far as Carb Tuning and Duna CDI is concerned:

For my Mod's (check out my signature) and Dyna CDI. I ended up with the following carb adjustments:

1. Adjusted air/fuel screws to richen up the idle circuit.

2. Shimmed both needles 0.030

Shimming the needles made an incredible difference at 1/4 throttle. Prior to that (with the Dyna CDI), I would "pop" through the carbs @ ~ 1/4 throttle when slamming from idle to WOT. Just non-stop tire ripping acceleration now

Note that the Dial-a-Jet's are really designed (regardless of what Lonn tells you) to compensate primarily for Main Jet needs...

You're Gonna Have Fun!!

I should be receiving my cdi any day now.
I assume I will have to rejet?
How do you know if the needles have to be shimmed?
I think I want to try the dial a jets.
Will the cdi give a significant hp increase.
I have a P700 now. I have to pull back on the bars to wheelie. It only has 30 hours on it. Why do you assume the throttle doesn't come on harder in the beggining?

Any help would be appreciated

PD
