Default Tecate 4

well I have the opportunity to buy a 1988 tecate 4 with works shocks, fmf reeds and pipe, nerf bars and some other stuff for $2000. Is it worth it?

And does anyone know how reliable they are and about the handling? How will it compare to the 400's and 450's in the dunes and just riding around? I know they were one of the fastest production quads back in it's day but will it keep up with today's new quads.
Thanks for the help.

If that quad is in great condition, you will always be able to get your money out of it for that price. They were great quads. Theh performance will be on par with a Z400(with pipe and jettted) but it will not be as quick as the new 450's.

BIgger.

The realiability is decent, the quad is sick as all hell.. they are fast and fun to ride. the only downfall is from what i see parts are expensive. but its a good bike

lET ME JUST SAY THIS, IMO. the only thing the 450's have on them is low end torque, which can easily be fixed with a reed spacer. the parts are kinda high but it is well worth it. as far as realiability, the only thing I ever have to replace is plugs. it you need any other info pm me.
