Default 100 miles with Dynatek CDI

What I mean by a good pipe is a free flowing(Not disc-Not reflective) that enhances flow top end. This pipe must have a good 2into1 collector, before the silencer, for exhaust scavanging. This is why I never liked the dual setups on my Vforce. By the time the Muzzy pipe came out, it was to late...I sold my Vforce.

Because I couldn't get on the dyno in the last 6 months, I could only test one way...top end speed. Run stock and get your MPH. No other mods. Put your choice of pipe on....and try it again changing jets until you top out. You also need to watch RPM with a tach. You'll see an increase if you jet in the right direction even if you still have the same top speed. MPH and RPM will begin to fall off allittle by making it to rich. 3-4 changes will tell you the story. Sure, it may take some time, but you'll know for sure if you waisted your money. I found out the hard way that alot of the manufacturer's out there never dyno tested there products. Now this will cost you a few bucks for all these pipes to try if you don't find someone to buy them for what you had paid. I've been lucky. As soon as the T496 comes out, I'll try that one.

I put the stock pipe back on my P700 on Sunday...just to see if I was crazy. My MPH fell off about 2 mph average. But, on occasion, still hit 70. I just took alot longer to get there. So, the stock pipe isn't all that bad compared to the last pipe installed.

NYROC is right...airbox mods do work. Upgrade your '02 to an '03. Do not cut any holes. Your carbs are CV that require a certain pressure differential between above and below the slides to open at the right time. Taking the cover off or cutting holes in the top WILL require...what they call...air bleeds(restrictors). To be honest, I have no idea if our carbs will allow them. When you start doing mods like this, and you dont have a clue, you'll end up with HUGE mains and still have a lean condition because the carb cannot pull the fuel from the bowl. This is expirience from Stage VII setups on the Yamaha Vmax...that i used to drag race. The snorkel is the answer. Choose your design and jet accordingly.

My keyboard is dieing....spilled coffee all over it...

Well...looks like my Dyna ignition will be here tomorrow. I ordered one for an '02 P650 and one for my '04 P700. I will relay actual top speed gains for the P700 tomorrow evening and let you know about the 02 P650 by the weekend.
