Not to be Disrespectful

If you are just comparing the normal utility quad, there are alot of people out there that like to use them for relaxation, & hunting, & working around the farm... A 2 stroke would foul out trying to putz around like alot of people enjoy doing on the utility quads...
The prairie is not a normal utility quad... They put the "SPORT" in sport utility... even though I'm much older than alot of you guy's, I like to use my ATV for "high speed stress relief"... with the modifications made to it, there are very few 2 strokes ( unless also highly modified ), that could keep up to my "utility" quad, no matter where we are riding...
I've gone to exreme lengths to make my quad competitive in every type of venue... I've never water skipped, but have the tires & tire setups, to walk on water, as well as perform as needed on any type of terrain... so bring it on...LOL... by the way, my "lead sled" is over 700 lbs but it will still walk on water...
one of the things I like most about my "SPORT" utility quad, is not having to wear the trail home with me... I have been out riding rough & muddy trails with guy's running 400 EX's etc... I have no trouble keeping up, but some times they do... but when we stop back at the trucks, I get my last laugh, as they are fully covered in mud from head to toe... my lower fenders & floor boards do a nice job... I usually just knock off a few chucks off my chest or shoulders ( mostly roost ), & get into the truck, to go to the next trail... they typically either have to completely change clothers or take the rain gear off, before they can get into thier rigs to go onto the next trail...

So is 1BAD250R or the other "sportsters" insenuating that sports can go everywhere utilities can? You need to come ride with me sometime if you believe that. I'm not being "defensive"..........hell maybe I am, but there's a difference between fact and fiction.

I'm not trying to say my 250R can "mud bog" with a Prarie. I haven't said anything like that because I hate mudding......if you like it thats fine but my R hasn't even seen mud the whole 3 years I've had it. But it bugs me when you guys with your Praries say it can keep up with a high-perfromance quad. I know the Prarie is fast I've ridden one, but stop trying to sound like it can jump doubles and ride berms like a race quad. The "fact and fiction" as you called it is that a Prarie is probably the best utility quad out there, I am not denying that but it can't hold a candle up against a Tecate, TRX250R, YFZ, etc.

guys im not trying to take the side of the sport ridders (i owen a prairie 650) BUT i have 3 cousions that ride yfz 450's and can tell you from experance high performance sport quads will climb hills that a prairie just CANT climb.. been there done that it just cant do it. now through a few ruts and rocks on a hill and maby some mud and the prairie will out climb it. here in east ky we have a hill called "the deviles back". when the yfz's hit it some one has to be at the top to grab the frount of the quad and pull it back down, its about as vertical as you can get.

Like the Thread says, I meant no disrespect to the Utes. However, I also do all my riding in the woods and have been with many Praires. The bottom line is that the Honda 250R is the best hill climbing ATV made. It has great center of gravity and is quick enuff to get up hills that 4x4's flip over on (which is an ugly and dangerous site). As for the mud, if I want to go muddin then i take my Jeep Wrangler.
