Limited Edition Vforce Questions
#1
Anyone Vforce owners had experience maintainingg the lava red colored plastic on the Vforce? Does it crack easily(seems brittle) and does it scratch and show scratches more than the other plastics? Do you need to replace the gas tank for a larger one for trail riding as I hear they are real hard on gas? Also any Vforce owners have any reliability problems? Lastly, can that suspension easliy be adjusted to a lightweight rider without buying new shocks and is a comfortable long day trail bike?
Thanks!
Thanks!

I have read more than one post about the plastic on the LE models, and they they mostly say the plastic is kind of hard. Can't say for sure, because I have a green one. As far as reliablity, I have had no problems and I have about 80 to 100 hours on my bike. Now about the gas tank, Hmmmm yep this thing sure dose like to drink the gas, so I don't go on anything longer than a three hour ride. The suspenion is pretty good for a stock quad if you don't do much jumping, other wise you might need to start thinking about some elka's. I had a 2002 raptor that I traded in when I bought my V-force and I have no regrets. After doing some clutch mods and installing some dual exhaust pipe's this thing really screams!!!

I really like the limited edition plastic on my V-Force. It has maintained its brand new appearance much better than any other ATV I have ever owned. It seems to be very scratch resistant, and shines as good as the day it was purchased. I suspect it would break easier in a roll over, but I have not rolled my V-Force, and do not plan on doing so either.

Hi Toys,
No question the LE plastic is more brittle. It's harder and does maintain it's finish and takes a nice wax job, but when you put this thing on its side that plastic shatters like glass.
The range is limited in comparison to other quads. I ride with guys who have DSs, Raptors, EXs, KFX-400s, and I am always the first one to go low on gas and the thing has no reserve tank. What I do is strap a one liter fuel bottle to my rack. Then I have no worries.
I have had no reliability problems. Regarding the suspension... I like it, it rides fine, but I want the Elkas for the lower ride height and greater travel.

I have the lava red and love it ,plastic really shines and is great at not showing scratches thus far,its about 4 months old now ,i have had the oil light come on twice with a full jug still in there and no one seems to really no why it comes on ?could be a bad sensor or to much water ,in all i LOVE this quad got rid of a 03 scrammy 400 2 stoke hpd kitted to the max was running 50 + hp and this thing makes me forget about everytime i ride it .

If you think you are a good rider (you don't think you will crash anymore) the LE plastic looks great! I love mine and have had no problems, so far. I have been riding for over 30 yrs (YIKES I"M OLD!). I was done with crashes 15 yrs ago. lol

I heard a Pro-level rider comment that his didn't last the race.
I've seen the LE plastic, and I can't imagine it lasting a hard ride through the woods; I guess it depends on your style of riding.
