Default tap in grease zerks

Has anybody tapped grease zerks into their machines? With all the mud I get into and then pressure washing the machine off I'm worried that I'm looking for trouble

Im surprised that there are not grease zerks on them already, figure manufactures would have caught on by now.. there is a type that we use on our airplanes, they have a very shallow thread depth and would work well... you'd want to mount them in a way to keep them from getting hit by rocks and such as they do break off rather easily...

If you drill or tap without taking parts off (if you even can) coat the drill bit and tap with grease to pick up the shavings.....
