Lakota
hey, im 13 5'3 145lbs and i own a 2003 lakota sport . It took me a wile to break in this machine but now i have a really tough time handling it on trails and even in my drive way. Every time i shift into second gear aggresivly the front end pops up really quick so i tend to sit forward a bit considering if it flips back its 448lbs on you(owch!) but when i do intentionaly wheelie its a blast and easy to. most people do it out of nuteral but i shift to second gear and then hold the shifter down and rev it and let go and damm its nice. It definetly has a grunt for hills and it is surprisingly well in mud. Most of the time i just ride trails and swamps with my friends and his sportsman 400 4x4. The lakota will go newere the sportsman can go, and dust hinm in the trails. brakes ar ok just try not to get them 2 wet. The only thing that could be better is the handling and a little less weight but that can be changed with a few dollars. There are plenty of modifications to keep u buisy for a while u just have to know what you are looking for. As far as speed i have a 13tooth sprocket on mine (stock is 12) and it makes a huge difference because the gears are set really low. this gives a good amount of top end. stock speed is arouns 53-54 mph , but when are you gonna go that fast on a trail. In a drag race it will take a 250 ex z250 anything below that and also with a sprocket it will take a 300ex(i have beaten one several times) and with a performance air filter and a pipe and jet kit you will dust a warrior. Jumping is great with a spft landing i feel i can junmp anyrthing at any speed and feel like landing on a cloud. over all i lkove this quad and its perfect for a person that wants performance but doesnt want a kfx 400. and extremely reliable.
