Prairie 700 or Vinson LE
#1
I'm in the market for a new utility quad......I guess you can tell by my SN I'm really into Kawie's I'm very brand loyal Chevy trucks and Kawie bikes lol....anyways I've had my heart set on the Prairie 700 I've found a really good deal on on it's brand new 2004 for $6999 OTD........well today me and a friend went around to a couple od dearlerships looking at bikes this one dealership sells both Suzuki and Kawasaki they didn't have any Prairie's there but they did have a Twin Peaks 700 in Blue (loved the color the blue looked really nice) anyways the price on that was $7000 + tax then they had a 2004 Vinson LE I really liked the way this bike looked it just looks mean.....it feels bigger than the Twin Peaks....The price on the Vinson LE was $6299 + tax......Personally I like the Vinson better purely based on looks it just looks better than the Prairie I think..........but the main thing that's pulling to the Kawie is that the Kawie has that front diff. lock.......I used to own a Prairie 360 4x4 which also has the diff. lock and I've seen how big of a difference that makes.....that praire went through stuff a lot easier than my buddies Arctic Cat 400 4x4......and the Arctic Cat had IRS......This was through rock gardens and mud the pairie kicked it's but.....I mean what's the point in having 4wd when one side of the bike is up in the air and the only tires turning up front is the one that's not touching the ground???

Hey , I used to be a Honda man. I've had a Kawi now for the last 16 months . It gave me a bit of greif in the first months but thats fixed now. I looked into trading it for a Rincon but kept comparing it to my Prairie and concluded that I would miss all the goodies the Prairie offers and the honda didnt . it was'nt worth it . I'm gonna stay Kawi cause all other bikes seem to try to mesure up to it but are still coming short. The last issue of ATV Rider seems to support this same view in their shootout of the BIG BOYS.
Thats my opinion if it helps.

IMO, get the Kaw! The Vinson is the best 500cc utility bike out there, but there is no replacement for displacement. One of my best friends has a Vinson and loves it, but he is searching for more power and speed, especially when I smoke him om my vforce. lol He is considering buying a Twin Peaks or Prairie. The blue Twin Peaks sounds really cool, I haven't seen one yet. I think I would get the blue Twin Peaks and put Kawasaki stickers on it!!! They built the darn thing might as well put their name on it!

I don't know if a Kawi dealership will warrenty a twin peak? If your suzuki dealer knows the bike good you are ok but I don't want any one that doesn't know what they are doing touch my bike. Atleast the kawi dealer should be more aware of the 700 my pov. however I like the blue....

That would be cool if they made a Prarie or Twin Peaks in Black plastic

I just left a post on your "cloned" post on the suzuki forum. Either would be a good choice. I know a guy with a prairie and he loves it. I'm sure the extra power is fun, too. My vinson does well for me,and for what I do has plenty of "poop". It will do 65,witch is plenty fast- I ride in areas that are more technical, and for that its perfect. Also, I don't have to have the biggest, fastest, etc., to boost my self esteem. (lol)

Well guys I'm going to pick up my new 2004 Prairie 700 4x4 Saturday I called The MotorCycle Factory (Woodbridge, VA) and talked to my salesman and he made me an awesome deal on the Prairie......$6400+tax that's only $100 more than the Vinson LE!!!
