inside scoop.(note that a few of the first run of cdi had a defect what is happening is it is firing on back cylinder first instead of front.this is were the problem is.( I was told) If your not having problems you probably wont but like i said mine was in for 2 rides and there went the starter.(I would say if you are hearing the noise pull it out put stock one back in.
I've only ridden mine 3x and it made the clank 2x , right in a row. Kaw700, how many times did yours 'kick back' or clank before it blew the starter?

04KAW... I'm not doubting your info, but why would the test unit that Nyroc & K.O.D. were using, make it...."hick-up"

I would like to hear what Scott has to say about this, i am sure he has received some units back by now, what have you found scott with the units that were returned to you? I believe it would be in dyna's best interest to shed some more light on this problem. The battery charging issue, i think has been eliminated contrary to dyna's claim as the culprit......

I think we all would love to hear back from Scott about this. I'm sure several people, myself included, have sent him emails wondering whats up.

04kawasaki700prairie, you just edited and removed your post. It is ok to be mistaken. Tell us about it. I am wrong all the time, except when I just said I was wrong, because at that moment I was right.

I guess with editing turned on, you really can take back what you said. 04kawasaki700prairie removed both his posts.

Does anyone believe that he really broke his starter? Or, is hammerman the only one still claiming. At least he said he was too busy to look into it for us.

It did blow starter.I was told it fired on back cylinder first which stripped the gears out(starter clutch gear the torque limiter gear) and took a chunck of metal off clutch in starter they said (they showed me the parts or gears that they ordered.I stopped today to see if the parts came in but no luck, I was wanting to take it to the Poker run this weekend but Dont think it will be put back together in time.

I ran my CDI for the first time this weekend, once it's warm it kicks back almost every time I start it... I also have not noticed any gains. Idle is a little higher and that is about it. Does not wheelie as easy as stock CD did and It doesn't start any better then before. I would like to know why some people are getting more gains then others?
