To the people who sent there cdi's back to dyna how long does it take to get the new one? And does it work without kickback?

Hi Fireman650,

We ordered 3 Dyna CDI in April to be delivered in Bouctouche New-Brunswick (3 days delivery) and I did not get an invoice for custom brokerage, the only thing I had to pay extra is the 15% HST. I received the invoice from Purolator yesturday!!!

By the way, I am very happy with the service I received from Dynatek (Scott and Faye) when ordering!!!

My CDI has been working great until today and it just died. Wheeler wouldnt start for anything! Installed the factory CDI and it started. I still have no doubt that dyna will repair or replace it without much hassle. Mine did have a few kickbacks over the past few months and I should have sent it back already.

I got my replacement today. Although, I haven't had a chance to test it out (working all day).

So, that wasn't bad at all. Two weeks turn around for me. It might have been less if I had used better shipping to them (other than USPS).

Thanks Scott.

I dont have exact word yet on what was defective with the original one, but the first batch certainly had some defectives. The kickback is not indicative of a normally functioning dyna CDI IMO. I got my replacement CDI and it works beautifully! I could do the kickback on command with the first cdi - basically just hit the starter with the throttle already depressed, and it would clank. Well after about 20 tries of the same thing 5 minutes later with the new CDI, and all it will do is start and rev up! Still has the same increased power etc. Hats off to Dyna for taking care of this problem!

Has anyone figured out why the idle is faster even though it is supposed to be running the same exact timing as OEM at idle? Coil input levels? Spark duration? Any ideas?

Prairie633 - my guess is the hotter/more intense spark.

My guess is that the timing is not the same on idle.

Shotgun, Scott from dyna has told us that it is, and I dont think he would have any reason to lie about it.
