with the 26's---26/10/12 fronts and 26/12/12 on backs --will those fit on stock rims and will i have enough clearance without rubbing--the guy i talked to was concerned with the 26's so that is why i decided on 25's-----------i would like to get the 26's what do you think.

The 26s will fit without any concerns. You can put 27s on with out concerns. With 28s that have big side lugs you should go with a different offset. The guy who is worried about the 26s fitting most likely has never looked at them on a ATV. He is just doing the CYA thing that he was taught by the company. They will fit with no worries.

My friend use to have a 2002 P650 with 26inch Bear Claw, he loved it. He is mostly trail riding with his wife every weekend some mud playing from time to time. Now he traded for a P700 and he put 4 new 26inches Bear Claw, his bike is stock except for the tires and I can beat him on top speed. I have a P700 with a Dalton clutch kit and a new Dyna CDI with 26inches ITP 589 (they look like 27inches tires and they are too heavy!!) I love my 589 when I am in the mud up to the fenders but my friend is coming at the same spots with the 26in Bear Claw!!!
Here in Canada Bear Claws are a lot cheaper than the 589 or other tires!!

The only thing they will rub, is your buddies nose in mud if they follow to close. The half inch clearance is worth it big time, especially dipping into cross ruts, you won't regret it. The 589's 26's are bigger/taller than the dd's by the way, they have deeper tread again, they might rob some power but not the dd's claws or mudlites.

Just buy a set you think suits you best, you can always sell them and try another brand/size if you don't like them or see better.

Happy trails,

Ok I have a question , can you run 26x10x12 and 26x12x12 on stock P700 rims? will the extra width make them round out?

heyyou,

Your parts haven't got any outlaws and I don't know if your 589's are any better than the mudbugs either. You just have more clearance and that is getting down there with the more weight you put on her.

shooter,

They are made for your size rims, it's just like putting wider tires on your car, more traction. They do stick out a little more but that is good thing because they save your rims and your fenders. Look at peoples pictures and that will give you guys an idea.

sled-whatever, I'm not ******* anyone's recommendations, sounds like someone's a little defensive..might want to investigate the cause of that

DOA - Nice writeup on the DD's. They sure are priced nicely but so are bearclaws. I just don't think bearclaws will do as well in trail riding, since they are kinda squared off.

Hey you, 589's are a compromise tire ; good mud performance and adequate trail riding. They will not come close to hanging with outlaws or mudzillas etc in the mud, but provide a much smoother ride on the trails. From 0-5 mph my outlaws want to shake your teeth out, but then smooth out.

For the record, my 27" outlaws (have huge side lugs) do rub the gas tank on the inside of the rear right tire, and required 1" spacers.
