I think what is interesting about the initial post is that the bike was backfiring "loud as a gun" and it continued to be ridden. New or not, I dont think it was wise of him to do that. Maybe Im wrong but I think that would have given me clue that something was not quite right.

Sorry to hear of Mikes bad luck that really sucks he got stuck with a lemon. But its good Kawi took care of him. MY P-700 has been running awsome i have 250miles on it and ive had it about 3 months. IVe put this thing throughj hell and you can tell just by looking at it. Ill admit i havent taken care of it like i should "( maintaince, due to lack of funds being 16..lol) but it still runs hard and well ill stand by Kawi all they way!

Couple of days ago, second post in this thread, I told of the engine in our 360P siezing up. Talked to the service tech today and he says the left main bearing on the crank "gave out". I ask him what he ment and what caused it and apparently the bearing just froze up on the crank. Probably bad installation at the factory. Engine needs new case, crank and other parts. Be about two weeks for the parts to come in and putting the quad back together. Kawasaki will cover it all.
I have been wondering if I should request a new engine rather than just go with a major rebuild. Maybe at least try for a longer warantee period on the engine. Any opinions or experiance on this? Sure don't want to end up with a continuing problem.
